Our Mission
Americans for Political Tolerance promotes civil, respectful discourse and peaceful engagement among Americans — across political, ideological, and regional lines. We believe that honest conversation, education, and exposure to different viewpoints can break down ideological and partisan bubbles, reduce division and toxicity, and strengthen the foundations of our democracy. We work as a non-partisan bridge-builder, partnering with community groups, student organizations, businesses, universities, political parties, and other stakeholders to foster understanding, learning, and cooperation.
Our Vision
We envision an America where civil discourse, mutual respect, and collaborative problem-solving become the norm — where citizens listen, engage, and work together despite differences; where political participation leads to constructive dialogue; and where our democratic institutions reflect the will of an informed, engaged, and tolerant electorate.
Our Core Values
Respect for All Voices — We commit to valuing every individual’s right to political expression and the dignity of diverse perspectives.
Civility & Empathy — We believe in honest dialogue grounded in respect, empathy, and a shared commitment to civic integrity.
Nonpartisanship — We do not endorse any party or candidate; our focus is on principles, democratic values, and informed engagement.
Transparency & Integrity — We hold ourselves accountable, open about who we are, how we operate, and how we’re funded.
Education & Empowerment — We aim to inform citizens, not persuade them; to empower voters with unbiased, accurate information to help them make informed choices.
Unity in Diversity — We embrace America’s diversity — ideological, demographic, regional — as a source of strength, not division.
Our Story / Why We Started
Americans for Political Tolerance was founded in 2025 by Brian Price. Having spent years working internationally in development and witnessing how fragile societal cohesion can be in polarized environments — Brian returned to the U.S. driven by a simple conviction: that the American experiment depends on our ability to talk, listen, and respect one another, even when we disagree. APT was born from the hope that grassroots civic engagement — not divisive rhetoric — can revitalize democratic values and restore faith in our institutions.
From day one, we pledged to build a movement around civil discourse, unbiased voter education, and cross-community collaboration — because we believe the strength of our nation lies in its people, not its politics.
What We Do / How We Work
Informing Voters — We provide up-to-date, state-specific information on elections, ballot measures, and voter registration — especially in swing and contested states, to help citizens make informed decisions.
Public Forums & Dialogues — We organize moderated discussions, debates, and panel events aimed at bringing together people from different political backgrounds to listen, question, and understand.
Civic Education Resources — We publish educational materials — issue primers, explainers, fact sheets — that break down complex or polarizing topics in nonpartisan language.
Partnerships & Collaboration — We work with universities, community groups, businesses, and nonprofits to host events, build outreach programs, and amplify pro-civility messages across different audiences.
Community Engagement & Volunteer Opportunities — We invite citizens to get involved — whether volunteering, joining local chapters, helping with outreach, or contributing via ideas and feedback.
